Microsoft plans to invest $ 500 million to build data centers in Ukraine

Microsoft wants to build 2 data centers in Ukraine, while government agencies receive a discount on the use of cloud services. The agreement was signed with the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Based on this, the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation plans to transfer the data of the “Action” service to the Microsoft cloud storage.
The agreement also provides for a discount for educational systems and other government agencies on Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and a number of cloud services. This will significantly reduce licensing costs and affect the prevalence of using these services.

Microsoft, in turn, wants to start holding programming competitions in Ukraine and teach students to use their software. This is the interest of the company, because it can get potential employees and customers.
